Discovery Kids is an onsite after school program with active play and educational enrichment with talented teaching artists. The program offers exposure to both French and Spanish.
Designed for children ages 3 -7, the program offers a tailored enrichment experience that includes STEM activities, music, social-emotional learning, games, and much more. The engaging curriculum ensures that your little ones will have fun while developing essential skills in a supportive environment. Join us for an after-school program of learning and discovery!

What are the hours of the program?
The hours are 2:30-5:30 every day.
Can I pick up my child before programming ends?
You may pick up your child at any time.
What grade levels can enroll?
The program is open to students from 3K through first grade.
What is the teacher to student ratio?
We generally keep a ratio of 1 staff member to 10 children for grades PreK and up
or 1 staff member to 8 children for 3K.
How much French/Spanish is spoken?
Activities will be conducted primarily in French or Spanish, with English spoken as necessary. The staff includes native speakers of both French and Spanish.
Does my child need to be in a dual language program to enroll?
No, the Discovery Kids program is open to all students at PS 133 in 3K to 1st grade.
Is pickup from school dismissal included?
Yes. Students will be picked up from their classrooms at 133 at dismissal.
What is the cost of the program?
The cost of the program will depend on the number of students enrolled; with more kids, we can spread the expenses more widely. The baseline monthly cost is $930 per student for five days. However, if more kids sign up, the cost will be lower. According to total enrollment, the cost for five days a week would be:
Up to 14 kids: $930/month
15 - 17 kids: $760/month
18 - 20 kids: $560//month
Those costs will be billed monthly based on the number of students enrolled each month. If enrollment crosses a pricing threshold for a given month after you've paid the higher price tier for that month, you will be credited for the next month. Note that there is also a one-time cost of $100 to cover materials.
Are part time options available?
Yes. The base pricing for part time enrollment is below.
4 days/week: $760/month
3 days/week: $570/month
2 days/week: $375/month
1 day/week: $200/month
Part time pricing may be lower based on total enrollment as explained above.
Michelle is a native Spanish speaker with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and has over 20 years of professional childcare experience. Michelle also has certification with special needs and is CPR & AED certified. Michelle is hard-working, personable, and can rise to any occasion with ease. She is excited to join the PS 133 community and is looking forward to meeting your family!
Amanda is a proud Brooklyn native and has dedicated over 15 years to working with children, both as a private childcare provider and within social service agencies. She’s thrilled to join the PS133 community and bring her experience and passion for nurturing young minds. Hermost cherished role, however, is being a mom to her daughter, Abi, who is currently in 2nd grade at PS29!
