TEiAM is a highly flexible, affordable aftercare option we are planning to bring into PS133 for the 2025 - 2026 school year. As a community, we must have 45 students enrolled each day of the week before August 5th, 2025 in order to secure TEiAM onsite. TEiAM will be at PS 133 five days a week and serves PreK - 5th Grade.

What is special about TEiAM?

Non-Profit: TEiAM NYC 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2019 with the mission to fill the need of sports leagues in elementary schools and provide a well rounded after school program through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.
Affordable: TEiAM is $17/day, and you do not pay for school holidays. 1 day a week, or 5 days a week, its the same price per day.
M-F from dismissal until 6PM.
Flexible: You can change your days month to month, and there is no cost for cancellation (TEiAM will keep the $50 registration fee). Emergency drop in is $25/day.
STEAM Curriculum: A typical day at TEiAM afterschool includes snack, healthy play, homework assistance, and a STEAM activity. Healthy play is structured and organized by the TEiAM Staff. The STEAM activity is a fun and creative experiment that matches the week's theme-- see below for some pictures!

Registration Instructions

Important Registration Information

Once you begin the registration process, you will have 7 days to complete it. You will be asked to submit health forms, so please be prepared in advance.

You will receive a confirmation email from TEIAMS—make sure to click the confirmation link.
If you do not complete this step, your registration will not be finalized and your application may be lost.

If your registration is not completed within 7 days, you will receive a refund of the $50 registration fee, but you will need to restart the process from the beginning.

Registration Fee

A one-time, annual registration fee of $50 is required per child.

Daily Fee: The cost is $17 per day, per child.
Families can choose from the following flexible options:

Full-time care: Pre-select up to 5 days per week.
Part-time care: Select specific days (e.g., Mondays only, or Mondays and Wednesdays).

TEiAM is committed to flexibility, allowing families to choose a schedule that fits their needs.

To change your child’s aftercare schedule for the upcoming month, please email [email protected] no later than the 13th of the current month to avoid invoice disruptions.

How to Pay

Monthly invoices are sent via Kangarootime on the 13th of each month for the following month.
Payments can be made:

Directly in the Kangarootime app using a linked credit card.
By check — given to your program’s director.
(Note: We do not accept Zelle.)

To set your schedule:

Log in to the Kangarootime app before the 13th of each month.
Select the days your child will need aftercare for the upcoming month.
Once selected, you will receive an invoice through the app.

Important:

Your child’s first month’s payment must be made in full before attending the program.
If payment is not received, your child will not be allowed to attend.

Example: To enroll in September care, log in by August 13 to choose your preferred days.

Emergency / Drop-In Care

TEiAM offers drop-in emergency care for families who need last-minute support:

Cost: $25 per day
No ongoing commitment required

To use this option, families must register via the Kangarootime app and pay the $50 registration fee (only if they are not using TEiAMs already).

Late Policy / Late Pick-Up Fee

All children must be picked up by 6:00 P.M.
TEiAM staff cannot accommodate late pick-ups beyond closing time.

If no caregiver or emergency contact can be reached after a reasonable period, local authorities (e.g., FDNY) will be contacted.

A late fee of $25 per 10 minutes will be automatically charged for any pick-up after 6:01 P.M.
Repeated late pick-ups may result in dismissal from the program.

FAQ'S

What are my registration options?

There is a $50 annual registration fee and a $17 daily fee, making the program accessible to all families. You may choose between one to five days per week of after-school care. The schedule you select will apply for the full month.

Can I change my days per month?

Of course! You can change every month if you want! Just make sure to email [email protected]. prior to the 13th of the month to avoid invoice disruption.

Are we locked in if we sign up for the after-school program now?
No. Families are not locked in. You can choose between 1 to 5 days per week and make changes on a monthly basis. You may cancel at any time, but the registration fee is non-refundable.

What is needed before my child can start TEiAM?
To start, you must complete online registration and submit payment. We also require an up-to-date medical form and a copy of your child’s immunization record.

When will I be charged or expected to make payment?
Payment is due by the 27th of the month prior. You’ll receive an invoice from Kangarootime on the 13th of the previous month. If payment is not made, your child will not be picked up for after-school care.

What time is pick-up?
You may pick up your child at any time in the afternoon. TEiAM’s formal dismissal begins at 5:30 PM. The school building closes at 6:00 PM, and staff are not permitted to stay past that time.

What happens if I am late for pick-up?
Please make sure your child is picked up before 6:00 PM. If you’re running late, call the TEiAM phone. A $25 late fee is charged for every 10 minutes after 6:00 PM.

What if someone else needs to pick up my child?
During registration, you’ll be asked to list approved individuals for pick-up. You can update this list at any time through the Kangarootime app. Only people on this list are authorized to pick up your child.

What if my child needs to attend an extra day?
That’s fine! Just notify us by email. A $25 fee applies for emergency drop-in care.

How does my child transition from school to TEiAM?
TEiAM operates on-site using various school classrooms and spaces. A TEiAM instructor will pick up your child directly from their classroom at dismissal.

If my child is absent on a scheduled day, do I still need to pay?
Yes. Families are responsible for payment even on days their child is absent. The program is structured to ensure consistent supervision and instruction, supporting continuity for all students.

What is the difference between the TEiAM After-School Program and TEiAM Enrichment (Encore)?
The TEiAM After-School Program is a daily care program that runs from school dismissal until 6:00 PM. It includes snack time, physical activity, homework help, and STEAM-based workshops.
The TEiAM Enrichment Program (also known as Encore) offers specialized classes in subjects like art, dance, music, theater, chess, cooking, and coding. These classes are scheduled in 8-week trimesters and run from 3:00–4:00 PM and 4:00–5:00 PM.

Can my child participate in both the after-school and enrichment programs (Encore)?
Yes! Students can enroll in both. The enrichment program (Encore) can be added on to the after-school program or taken independently.
